The Top-ranking Seniors in the World met in Berlin
Andreas Lippok/Karin Eva Rode 2nd in the Senior Standard Tournament
Half of the twelve couples of the semi final of the world
ranking list tournament Senior Standard were from the DTV. The
second half consisted of two couples from the Czech Republic and
Italia each and one couple from France as well as one couple from
Austria. The 50% share of German couples continued until the last
round: three German couples qualified for the final.
The current 2nd of the world ranking list Zdenek Pribyl/Lenka
Pribylova from the Czech Republic only began to open up in the
quarter final and inspired both the fans that had travelled with
them as well as the other spectators in the sports centre at
Siemensstadt. French couple Pierre Payen/Isabel Reyjal who are
currently 3rd in the world ranking list, also finished on the
podium and reached the 3rd place. Between these two couples,
Andreas Lippok/Karin Eva Seitz, who are newcomers in the Senior
class, reached the 2nd place, and were met with great applause from
the German fans.
Thorsten Strauß ranked 5th together with his new partner Alma
Marit Herrmann. Klaus Genterczewsky/Julia Quinot, another newcomer
couple in the Senior class, reached the 6th place. In the semi
final, Kim and Silke Bartels ranked 9th just ahead of René and
Heike Seyboth who reached the 10th place. Jörg Gutmann/Isabel
Matthes finished 12th in this tournament.
