Cooperation between American Football and Dancesport
At first glance it seems to be an unusual partnership - American
Football and Dancesport. In fact the cooperation itself is between
Cheerleading / Cheer Dance and Dancesport. In the American Football
Federation of Germany (AFVD) are the most German Cheerleader and
Cheer Dancer organized. The association belongs to the
International Federation of Cheerleading (IFC) to. Because even in
some clubs of the German Dancesport Association (DTV) Cheer Dance
is offered a cooperation of both DOSB organizations tipped on the
hand. The agreement was signed by the presidents of both
associations, Robert Huber (AFVD) and Franz Allert (DTV).
Objectives for future cooperation are joint training and education
opportunities for coaches and athletes and, of course, common Cheer
dance competitions.
"The cooperation between this leading associations in the DOSB
should be strengthened and not just include general sports policy
issues such as Funding, sports development or anti-doping measures
but also the athletes practical benefits," stressed the presidents
of both organizations, Huber and Allert, at the contract signing.
As early as 2009 there is planned a joint German Championship
of the two associations.
Both organizations recognize the existing conditions of
membership in their clubs and will assist each other to convince
interested Cheer Dance athletes outside the DOSB of the advantages
of membership in their associations.
