Segatori/Sudol win the “Blaue Band der Spree“
Victory of the favourites in Berlin
A Russian-German final was celebrated by the spectators the
first evening of the "Blaue Band der Spree" in Berlin. With exactly
100 couples, the WDSF International Open Standard tournament was
well-attended both qualitatively and quantitatively. There was no
doubt at all regarding the victory of the German champions and
world championship runner-ups Simone Segatori/Annette Sudol. They
clearly dominated the field, showed their full potential and were
accompanied by a wave of applause from spectators and fellow
dancers alike.
Anton Skuratov/Alona Uehlin finished 2nd - also in a very
confident manner. Since the 3rd place was also given to a German
couple, the podium was completely in the hand of the DTV: Dumitru
Doga/Sarah Ertmer were awarded the well-deserved bronze medal. The
4th place was also given to a German couple: Anatoliy
Novoselov/Tasja Schulz managed to position themselves successfully
ahead of the two Russian couples.
In the semi final, Erik Kem/Lisa Rykovski finished 8th,
followed by Daniel Radu/Anne Weber who ranked 9th. In the quarter
final, three couples still represented the DTV: Emil-Daniel
Leonte/Angelina Velikanov (shared 19th place), Nikita
Goncharov/Alina-Siranya Muschalik (shared 22th place) and Grigorij
Gelfond/Isabel Tinnis (24th place).
